GWO BTT Installation Module (GWO BTTI)

from 1 450 EUR

Course duration: 2 days

The GWO BTT Installation Module course was created in response to the growing market demand for qualified personnel for the installation and pre-assembly phase. This training comprehensively prepares technicians to safely participate in the turbine erection process – from preparing components at the construction site (or installation vessel), through cooperation with crane operators, to correctly routing the main cables before the final power connection.

Requirements:

  • valid identity document (ID card/passport/mObywatel)

  • possession of a GWO BTT Mechanical and GWO BTT Bolt Tightening certificate, and an active WINDA (Wind Industry Database) ID

The course price includes:

  • WINDA system registration fee

  • lunch

  • coffee / tea

  • free parking

Additional fees:

  • none

Certificate validity:

  • indefinite

Course program

The program precisely discusses the subsequent stages of turbine erection and the associated safety standards:

  • Installation environment – discussing the logistical and organizational differences between onshore and offshore projects. Basics of communication at the construction site.

  • Hazards during installation – management of exclusion zones, principles of safe work near crane operations, and preventing dropped objects from heights.

  • Assembly documentation – learning to work with manufacturers’ installation instructions and strictly filling out checklists that form the basis of the equipment warranty.

  • Component preparation – rules for unloading and preparing the tower, nacelle, hub, and rotor blades for lifting. Protecting components from damage.

  • Cable routing – principles of safe pulling, laying, and securing main power and control cables inside the tower structure.

What will you learn?

By participating in this training, you will acquire competencies that allow you to:

  • Recognize all key components of a wind turbine at the stage of their storage and preparation for assembly.

  • Identify and avoid fatal hazards associated with working in the immediate vicinity of heavy lifting equipment and large-scale loads.

  • Flawlessly read technical assembly instructions and apply them step-by-step in construction site practice.

  • Properly operate tagline ropes used to stabilize suspended blades and nacelles in the air.

What does the training look like?

The training focuses on a balanced division between procedural awareness and workshop practice:

  • Procedure analysis: working with original turbine installation documentation, teaching trainees to strictly adhere to the manufacturer’s recommendations.

  • Workshops and simulations: participants perform exercises at training stations. These include, among others, simulated preparation of components for lifting, correctly routing cables in trays on tower mock-ups, and inspection of assembly equipment.

Confirmation of course completion

Passing the module is based on continuous assessment. GWO instructors verify your rigorous approach to safety and the ability to correctly read and apply instructions. Upon successful completion of the course, you receive the GWO BTT Installation Module (BTTI) certificate.

Where does the training take place, and is there parking?

The training takes place in Gdynia at 13A Polska Street. Free parking is located at 6 Chrzanowskiego Street. The barrier code is provided by the secretariat staff upon confirmation of the course.
