GWO BTT Hazardous Energies Basic Safety (GWO HEBS)

from 300 EUR

Course duration: 0.5 days

The GWO BTT Hazardous Energies Basic Safety (HEBS) training was developed for individuals who are just starting work in the wind industry, as well as for experienced technicians wishing to consolidate and expand their safety competencies. This course, through building awareness, teaches how to identify hidden hazards and implement effective isolation procedures, constituting an absolutely crucial element of preparation for safe work in the real conditions prevailing in the wind energy sector.

Requirements:

  • valid identity document (ID card/passport/mObywatel)

  • possession of an active WINDA (Wind Industry Database) ID

The course price includes:

  • WINDA system registration fee

  • coffee / tea

  • free parking

Additional fees:

  • none

Certificate validity:

  • indefinite

Course program: The program teaches how to recognize hazards resulting from the construction of a wind power plant in an accessible but very precise way:

  • Identification of energy sources – recognizing electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and other risky energy sources occurring inside the nacelle and tower of a wind turbine.

  • Energy control principles – understanding the fundamental principles of safe isolation, discharging systems, and completely disconnecting hazardous energy before starting any maintenance work.

  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) – discussion, proper selection, and correct use of protective equipment preventing the effects of energy release.

  • Risk mitigation – risk assessment methods and practical ways to prevent incidents while performing routine maintenance work on the turbine.

What will you learn?

By participating in this training, you will acquire precise skills that allow you to:

  • Consciously stay and perform work in the immediate vicinity of hazardous energy sources without endangering yourself and the entire team.

  • Flawlessly recognize potentially dangerous situations before a failure or uncontrolled release of pressure/voltage occurs.

  • Apply appropriate safety procedures and strictly adhere to the rules prevailing in the global wind industry.

What does the training look like?

The training focuses on directly translating standards into the realities of the working environment:

  • Theory and hazard analysis: discussion of individual types of energy and discussion on the most common causes of accidents in the offshore and onshore industry.

  • Practical application of knowledge: GWO places a huge emphasis on practice. Participants analyze various cases and learn to plan work appropriately.

Confirmation of course completion

Upon successful completion of the classes, the participant receives the GWO BTT Hazardous Energies Basic Safety (GWO HEBS) certificate, which officially and internationally confirms the acquisition of key knowledge in the field of safe work.
