GWO Basic Technical Training (3 modules)

from 1 230 EUR

Complete basic technical training in a package and pay less!

Course duration: 3 days

The GWO Basic Technical Training (3 modules) package is a comprehensive, three-day training combining three absolutely crucial BTT modules: Electrical, Mechanical, and Hydraulic. By deciding to complete these courses in a single block, you not only significantly reduce training costs but also gain consistent, logically connected knowledge. The course allows for a comprehensive understanding of the turbine’s operating principles, teaches the safe operation of heavy industrial tools, and develops the ironclad work habits necessary in this risky environment.

Requirements:

  • valid identity document (ID card/passport/mObywatel)

  • possession of an active WINDA (Wind Industry Database) ID

  • possession of a GWO BTT Bolt Tightening and GWO BTT Mechanical certificate

The course price includes:

  • WINDA system registration fee

  • lunch

  • coffee / tea

  • free parking

Additional fees:

  • none

Certificate validity:

  • indefinite

Course program (package contents)

The program combines theory with very intensive workshop practice on three fronts:

  • Electrical Module (BTTE) – fundamentals of electrical engineering, identification of electrical hazards (including arc flashes), safe execution of measurements using a multimeter, and reading simple diagrams.

  • Mechanical Module (BTTM) – design of main turbine components (gearbox, braking and yaw systems). Using precise measuring tools and torque wrenches.

  • Hydraulic Module (BTTH) – fluid mechanics, design of high-pressure systems (pumps, accumulators), safe release of “trapped pressure”, and reading hydraulic diagrams.

  • Hazardous energy control – absolute LOTO (Lock-Out, Tag-Out) procedures run through all three modules, guaranteeing the isolation of systems before starting work.

What will you learn?

By participating in this comprehensive package, you will acquire precise competencies that allow you to:

  • Identify the basic mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic elements of a wind turbine and understand their interconnections.

  • Safely and correctly use manual torque tools as well as basic hydraulic and measuring equipment.

  • Independently assess risk and implement safety procedures before undertaking routine maintenance work in the turbine.

  • Communicate freely and professionally with experienced engineers during troubleshooting and repairs.

What does the training look like?

The training focuses on continuous practice in controlled conditions:

  • Condensed theory: the modules begin with an accessible explanation of physical phenomena and industrial safety principles.

  • Workshop classes: the vast majority of these three days is spent at training models. Participants physically disassemble mechanical devices, build simple hydraulic circuits at pressure stations, and perform measurement exercises on special electrical panels.

Confirmation of course completion

Passing is based on continuous assessment of practical skills during the workshops and short theoretical tests summarizing each section. Upon successful completion of the classes, the graduate obtains qualifications in three modules (Mechanical, Electrical, Hydraulic). The qualifications are immediately entered into the global WINDA database.

Where does the training take place, and is there parking?

The training takes place in Gdynia at 13A Polska Street. Free parking is located at 6 Chrzanowskiego Street. The barrier code is provided by the secretariat staff upon confirmation of the course.
