Complete basic technical training in a package and pay less!

Course duration: 5 days

The GWO Basic Safety Training (5 modules) package is the absolute foundation and an “entry ticket” to the wind industry worldwide. This comprehensive, 5-day training combines in a single block all the necessary safety modules required of technicians. Completing the courses in a package mode allows trainees not only to save money but also to smoothly combine the acquired knowledge into one coherent whole – from injury prevention, through working at heights, to survival on the open sea.

Requirements:

  • valid identity document (ID card/passport/mObywatel)

  • possession of an active WINDA (Wind Industry Database) ID

The course price includes:

  • WINDA system registration fee

  • lunch

  • coffee / tea

  • insurance

  • free parking

Additional fees:

  • none

Certificate validity:

  • 2 years

Course program (package contents):

The five-day schedule includes comprehensive training in 5 fundamental GWO modules:

  • Module 1 – Working at Heights – principles of using a harness, fall arrest and evacuation systems on wind tower ladders.

  • Module 2 – Manual Handling – ergonomics and techniques for safe lifting and carrying loads, eliminating the risk of spinal injuries.

  • Module 3 – Fire Awareness – prevention, identification of fires in confined spaces of the turbine, and practical operation of fire extinguishers.

  • Module 4 – First Aid – key life-saving procedures, hemorrhage control, CPR, and the use of a defibrillator (AED) in the specific conditions of wind farms.

  • Module 5 – Sea Survival – training covering safe transfers to vessels (CTV) and the use of life rafts and marine survival suits.

What will you learn?

By participating in this highly condensed program, you will gain hard competencies that allow you to:

  • Perform daily tasks at heights and at sea with full care for your own health and life, as well as the safety of your team.

  • Identify potential risks (mechanical, fire, physical) inside the turbine and effectively prevent occupational accidents.

  • React instantly and methodically in crisis situations – from a fire in the nacelle to evacuation to a life raft on a rough sea.

What does the training look like?

The BST package is characterized by a gigantic emphasis on realism and the physical activity of participants:

  • Integrated theory: OHS regulations and principles are explained through the analysis of real industry accidents, with the maximum engagement of trainees.

  • 5 days of intensive training: participants spend most of their time in work gear, including: climbing ladders and descending on ropes, extinguishing real fire, lifting heavy boxes, conducting rescue simulations on manikins, jumping into the water in marine survival suits, and practicing on the waves.

Confirmation of course completion

The assessment of your progress is carried out successively over all 5 days by the instructor team. Each module ends with continuous assessment. Upon successful completion of the full package, you receive the internationally recognized GWO Basic Safety Training (BST) certificate. The qualifications are immediately registered and approved in the global WINDA database, which entitles you to start a career on onshore and offshore wind farms anywhere in the world. The BST qualifications remain valid for 2 years (after which passing a refresher course – BST-R – is required).

Where does the training take place, and is there parking?

Attendance confirmation takes place in Gdynia at 13A Polska Street. Free parking is located at 6 Chrzanowskiego Street. The barrier code is provided by the secretariat staff upon confirmation of the course.
