The training is conducted in accordance with the latest GWO Advanced Rescue Training V6 standard.
Course duration: 2 days
The GWO Advanced Rescue Training Refresher (2 modules) package is an intensive, condensed refresher training that combines two modules: reminding evacuation from the nacelle, tower, and basement (ART-N Refresher) and from the hub, spinner, and inside the blade (ART-H Refresher). It allows technicians working in the most responsible positions to quickly and effectively renew their advanced qualifications during a single, coherent training block.

Course program (package contents):
The training schedule focuses on a rapid update of rescue procedures and the elimination of bad habits:
-
Module 1 – Nacelle, Tower & Basement Rescue Refresher – reminding and re-training the construction of lowering and lifting systems, working with specialized evacuation stretchers, and rescue from zones around the gearbox and along the tower shaft.
-
Module 2 – Hub, Spinner & Inside Blade Rescue Refresher – verification of casualty packaging and stabilization strategies in extremely small spaces. Practicing evacuation through narrow hatches to the hub and nacelle.
-
Patient condition management – refreshing medical priorities during transport, safe rotation of rescue teams, and efficient communication in limited visibility conditions.
What will you learn and remember?
By participating in this refresher package, you will restore full readiness to act:
-
You will update your knowledge with the latest GWO equipment and procedural guidelines and draw conclusions from the latest accident analyses in the wind industry.
-
You will re-test your reactions under time pressure to the breakdown of a standard rescue plan, learning cool decision-making.
-
You will regain 100% fluency in using complex, directional rope systems and Sked-type stretchers in confined spaces, eliminating the risk of technical errors.
What does the training look like?
The Refresher training is designed as an intensive workout on working mock-ups:
-
Quick theory and briefing: a rapid review of equipment and changes in GWO regulations.
-
Multi-dimensional simulations: trainees spend most of their time in gear, working in conditions that faithfully reproduce the tightness of the inside of the blade and nacelle. Instructors carry out rigorous scenarios (involving heavy manikins), often introducing unexpected complications to force flexibility and test the participants’ teamwork.
Confirmation of course completion
Passing is based on continuous assessment of your engagement, knowledge, and technical correctness presented while performing simulated rescue operations. Upon successful completion of the package, you receive renewed certificates for both modules (GWO ART-N Refresher and GWO ART-H Refresher). The qualifications are immediately registered in the WINDA database, which officially extends your advanced rescue qualifications for another 2 years (24 months).
