This training was designed for those performing, supervising, or organizing work in confined spaces. The program focuses on hazard identification, safe work organization, and sound decision-making when working in high-risk environments.
This online training is delivered via e-learning. The program is theoretical and was developed based on industry requirements, applicable regulations, and best practices across various industry sectors.
During the training, participants learn the principles of safe work in confined spaces, analyze actual hazards encountered during work, and learn how to properly organize activities in accordance with applicable safety procedures.
The training focuses primarily on practical application of knowledge, not solely on theory. Participants learn:
- recognizing confined spaces and assessing the risk level,
- identifying atmospheric, physical, and process hazards,
- properly preparing the space for entry,
- applying Permit to Work (PTW) and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures,
- selecting appropriate personal protective equipment and safety equipment,
- principles of atmospheric monitoring and continuous surveillance,
- correct communication between team members,
- responding to emergency situations, and basic principles of evacuation and rescue.
The training program was developed by practitioners with extensive experience in the industrial and offshore sectors, as well as in providing occupational safety training.
At the end of the training, participants take a 26-question final test. A minimum score of 75% is required to pass the training.
After completing the online training and successfully passing the final test, participants receive a certificate confirming completion of the Confined Space Awareness training.
The certificate can be collected in person at the Gdynia Maritime School or, for an additional fee, can be mailed to the address provided.
