Course description
The “Boat Transfer” course in accordance with Global Wind Organization (GWO) standards is a renewal (refresher) training course designed for participants who have previously passed the basic course in marine transfer or offshore work.
During the training, participants will learn the specifics of safe transfer between a ship (or transport vessel) and a wind installation – especially in the context of offshore work (wind farms).
The course is conducted in theoretical and practical form, including elements of equipment and people transfer exercises and safety rules applied in such environments.
Upon completion, the participant will receive an appropriate certificate in accordance with customer/industry requirements.
After the course, you will be able to
- Properly plan and execute the transfer of a person or equipment between a transport unit and a platform or wind turbine in an offshore environment.
- Use proper personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety equipment during transfer operations (e.g., harness, belay lines).
- Recognize and assess offshore transfer hazards – e.g. vessel movement, weather conditions, waves, slippage – and respond appropriately.
- Cooperate as a team during a transfer operation – communicate clearly, follow safety procedures and support rescue efforts.
- State basic procedures for transfer emergencies (e.g., man overboard, failed belay) and implement rescue operations working with the team.
