Course description:
The GWO Sea Survival course equips wind technicians for offshore tasks, blending theory and practice for sea survival skills, including managing wind turbines and personal safety. The training provides insights into evacuation, rescue strategies, and up-to-date safety norms.
Included in the GWO Basic Safety Training, the course covers:
The unique aspects of maritime work,
Key concepts like MOB (man-overboard), SAR (search and rescue), and GDMSS (global distress and maritime safety system),
Legalities of sea-based work,
Understanding risks such as thermal shock, hypothermia, and drowning,
Safely evacuating endangered individuals,
Hands-on drills for various scenarios.
Graduates of this course will be adept at identifying and addressing risks related to hypothermia and secondary drowning. They will also be knowledgeable about the benefits and limitations of various safety gear like PPE, LSA, and PFPE, and proficient in individual rescue techniques and first aid.
Course Completion Certification
Successful participants of the GWO Sea Survival training will be awarded a certificate, validating their skills and knowledge for safely working at sea. This certification serves as tangible evidence of their skillset and dedication to professional growth.
