Course Description
This course is to provide theoretical and practical knowledge for participants with no or little crane operating experience of crane operation working on floating units.
To introduce crane operations terminology. To ensure the participant can identify and explain key elements of relevant legislation. To ensure the participant understands the role and responsibilities of the offshore crane operator and safety implications attached to that role. To ensure the participant understands the main crane controls, safety devices, working limitations, associated hazards and safe work practices of an offshore crane operator. To identify typical crane maintenance and inspection requirements. To practice operating a crane simulator following a basic lifting plan – after receiving instruction from qualified instructional staff.
After successful passing three part assessment process where third part is the test student will be awarded with course completion certificate. Minimum test passing score grade is 80%.
