Course Description:
The GWO-BASIC SAFETY TRAINING is tailored for professionals in the wind energy industry, focusing on imparting essential safety knowledge and skills. Developed by the Global Wind Organisation (GWO), a leading authority in wind energy workplace safety, these courses aim to promote safe working practices in this sector.
Module 1 - Working at Heights
This module is centered around the safe practices for working at elevated positions and methods to prevent related accidents. Trainees will be educated in the use of various equipment and tools specific to working at heights, and in maintaining safety while using scaffolding, ladders, and other related equipment.
Module 2 - Manual Handling
Focusing on the safe techniques for handling and transporting loads, this module aims to prevent accidents and work-related illnesses due to incorrect handling methods. It teaches correct procedures for lifting and carrying loads, ensuring safety during these activities.
Module 3 - Fire Awareness
This module provides a foundational understanding of fire behavior and essential fire safety knowledge. Participants will be trained in responding to fire hazards, using fire extinguishers effectively, and providing first aid to individuals affected by fire.
Module 4 - First Aid
This part of the course offers basic first aid training, preparing participants to handle emergency situations responsibly. It covers administering first aid for various types of injuries, illnesses, and the proper usage of medical tools and equipment.
Module 5 - Sea Survival
Specifically designed for wind turbine technicians in offshore settings, this module combines theoretical and practical training for survival at sea, including wind turbine operation and personal protection. It also includes knowledge of evacuation, rescue techniques, and current safety protocols.
While the GWO-BASIC SAFETY TRAINING is primarily for those in the wind energy sector, it is also beneficial for individuals in other industries with risks of accidents or occupational illnesses due to working at heights, load handling, or fire hazards. The aim is to equip individuals with the necessary knowledge and skills for safe performance and accident prevention in their respective fields.
Course Completion Certification
Upon finishing the course, participants will be awarded a certificate, validating their training in safe working practices at heights, manual handling, fire management, and first aid. This globally recognized certification is a testament to the participant's qualifications and capabilities, making it a valuable asset for employment in the wind energy sector or other related industries.
